Buttermilk Falls

If you are looking for a “non-hike, hike” then this is the one for you. In total, this clocked in a 0.2 miles total (and that was walking back and forth to see the falls from multiple angels.)

Hike Report

This hike was originally completed on July 10, 2017.

We made a stop at Buttermilk falls as my first check off for the Indian Lake 4-3-2-1 Way Challenge. What a way to start. The falls were roaring! We spent about a half hour just sitting and listening to falls, and it was so peaceful. Not in peak season, this would be a great place to bring a book and sit for awhile.

I have done this “hike” before, and I remember there been a lot of people there. It was nice this time to basically have the place to ourselves to just enjoy for a bit.

Trip Stats

  • Distance: 0.2 miles (round trip)
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Ascent: 16m
  • Weather: partly sunny, approx. 72F
  • GPS System: Gaia GPS (see hike here)

Rating

I gave this an 8 of out 10. It was beautiful today, though I could see that rating going lower if it was very busy as its likely a popular hike due to the falls and the ease to arrive at the destination.

Happy Hiking Friends!

I’m glad you’re here…

Plan. Hike. Bird. Repeat. that is what you’ll see here on my little corner of the internet. I love planners – give me all the lists and pens; nature – especially with my husband and dog (darby); and ALL OF THE BIRDS. Literally… all of them. I hope you enjoy what you’ll find here!
